We examine children of all ages and recommend yearly exams after age 3 to monitor their visual development. If you or your pediatrician notice a visual or eye related problem we want to examine them earlier than 3 years of age. Early detection and treatment of vision problems give children the opportunity to build a better foundation of visual skills. Most of a child’s learning at school comes through the visual system and these basic visual skills help a child achieve their full potential in the classroom.
“When vision problems go undetected, children almost invariably have trouble reading and doing their schoolwork. They often display fatigue, fidgeting, and frustrations in the classroom—traits that can lead to a misdiagnosis of dyslexia or other learning disabilities.”
