Dr. Patricia Ward Adams
Dr. Patricia Ward Adams is a graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School. In 1999 she graduated Cum Laude from the University of Louisville with a degree in Mathematics. She graduated with a Doctor of Optometry degree from the Indiana University College of Optometry in 2003. In 2007 she was awarded Kentucky Optometric Association’s Young Optometrist of the Year. She is an active member of the Owensboro community serving as a board member on the Daviess County Board of Health as well as various other committees. She serves as the vice-president for VOSH-KY and has been on more than ten international missions. She holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel for the Kentucky Air National Guard serving as Chief of Optometric Services for the 123rd Air Wing. In 2008 she was awarded the United States Air National Guard’s Optometry Officer of the Year. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Kentucky Optometric Association. Her hobbies include gardening, reading, and raising their four children with her husband Dr. J. Murray Adams.
Dr. J. Murray Adams
Dr. J. Murray Adams, the Vision Ninja, graduated from the University of Prince Edward Island with a degree in Biology in 1999. He graduated with a Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in 2003. He served as a board member to the Kentucky Optometric Association from 2008-2011. In 2010 he was awarded the Kentucky Optometric Association’s Young Optometrist of the Year. He serves as the Secretary for VOSH-KY and has been on four international missions since his first in 2004. He has been an active member of the Owensboro community serving as a board member, assistant and head coach for the Owensboro Youth Hockey Association. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Kentucky Optometric Association.
Dr. J. Murray Adams has competed in two seasons of NBC’s American Ninja Warrior TV series. He competed in Season 8’s Indianapolis City Qualifier and Indianapolis City Finals, and season 9’s Denver City Qualifier. He earned a world record registered in the ‘Alternative Book of World Records’ being part of a ten-man relay team doing parallel bar dips for three hours. He earned a second world record registered in the ‘Alternative Book of World Records’ being part of a two-man team moving up and down the salmon ladder for one hour. His hobbies include swimming, running, cycling, lifting weights, playing ice hockey, coaching many of his children’s sports and raising their four children with his wife Dr. Patricia Ward Adams.
Dr. Jaki Richter
Dr. Jaki Richter graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with a degree in biology in 2013. She graduated with a Doctor of Optometry degree from Indiana University School of Optometry in 2017. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, the College of Optometrists in Vision Development, and the Kentucky Optometric Association. Since moving to Owensboro, she is involved in Pleasant Valley Community Church and enjoys reading and running in her spare time.
Dr. Blake Hayden
Dr. Blake Hayden is an Owensboro native. He graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School in 2008. In 2012, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Hayden soon received his Doctorate in Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN in 2016. Dr. Hayden is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Kentucky Optometric Association. He moved back to Owensboro in 2018 to be closer to family. In his spare time, Dr. Hayden enjoys golfing, camping, and traveling with his wife.
Dr. H. Andrew Ward
Dr. H. Andrew Ward attended Brescia University and graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Mathematics in 1962. Upon graduation he entered the officer training program for the United States Air Force. After serving his active duty, he returned to Owensboro where he obtained a teaching position at Foust Junior High and later at Thomas Jefferson High School in Louisville, KY. He enrolled in the Indiana University College of Optometry in 1970 and graduated 1973. He then returned to his hometown of Owensboro where he started his family optometry practice with his wife Jeannette. Additionally, he joined the United States Air Force Reserves where he served as Liaison Officer to the United States Air Force Academy and Air Force ROTC. He proudly served in this capacity until his retirement from the Air Force Reserves with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was awarded the Kentucky Optometric Association’s ‘Clifford C. Leddingham Optometrist of the Year’ in 2006. He serves as the vice-president for VOSH-KY and has been on more than twenty international mission trips since his first trip to Jamaica in 1990. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Kentucky Optometric Association. He has been married to his wife Jeannette for over 40 years and together they have four children.
